Oregon Cam Grinding was founded in Oregon in 1984 by the Heard family. The company specializes in grinding and remanufacturing camshafts for automotive and industrial uses. Because of the Heard family's commitment to racing and the performance car hobby, the company also distributes camshafts, cranks, pistons and related engine parts for racing and high performance engines.
In 1989, the family-owned corporation relocated to Vancouver, Washington (just across the river from Portland, Oregon). By that time, Oregon Cam Grinding's reputation for quality and dependability was well-known; therefore, the decision was made to keep the name, even though the company was no longer physically located in Oregon.
The corporate logo shows a beaver gnawing a piece of
Oregon timber into a camshaft. Designed at the company's inception, the
use of the beaver was particularly appropriate because Oregon has always
been known as The Beaver State.
Today, the little beaver on the logo represents 'busy-as-a-beaver' - hard-work and fast-service - hallmarks of Oregon Cam Grinding's performance and rapid response commitment to customer needs. In the world of camshafts, Oregon Cam Grinding stands tall - a grind above the rest.
